Have a question about Beacon Boxx? You can find answers to the most frequently asked questions here:

What wearables are compatible with Beacon Boxx?

Our first release only focused on the iOS and Apple Watch platforms for health trend detectino & prediction. We will expand and incorporate other wearables by the end of 2025 as well as other operating platforms like Android.

How does Beacon Boxx detect & predict emergencies?

Beacon Boxx collects real-time health data from your wearable device before running those health datasets through our proprietary algorithms to detect, and predict, potential emergency events.

Depending on the type of wearable you own, we gather between 12 and 21 different types of data related to vitals, movement, battery, wrist orientation, and more. We then use supervised machine learning to analyze your data in relation to recorded events data to determine if a potential emergency exists.

If we find an emergency, we first alert you before informing you emergency contacts and 911. When help arrives, they can quickly locate and enter your home using the secure BeaconBoxx video-enabled access point. Safe, secure, and never alone.

Do I need the Beacon Boxx Video Access Point in order to use the Beacon Boxx health app?

No, we do not force you to purchase our hardware in order to use the Beacon Boxx lifesaving app. However, we do recommend that before using the application, it is wise to have a reliable access point from which first responders can easily, and securely, enter your home. These details can be input during your profile setup. So, don’t wait, download the app today!

What is the Beacon Boxx Video Access Point?

The Beacon Boxx Video Access Point is a two-way video doorbell with high-definition video & audio streaming directly to your mobile device. Embedded in our video doorbell is also an impenetrable lockbox in which you can store a spare key that can be accessed by first responders who possess your personalized PIN code.

Which mobile platforms support the Beacon Boxx application?

As of November 2024, Beacon Boxx is only supported on the iOS platform and Apple devices. Please check back in February 2025 for our Android release!

How is Beacon Boxx different from other health monitoring apps?

Beacon Boxx is unlike typical health monitoring apps, which passively track vitals or require user input. Our platform uses AI to proactively detect and predict medical emergencies—like cardiac events or fainting—without needing the user to act. It automatically alerts emergency contacts and EMS, shares real-time location, and even enables secure home access through an integrated smart lockbox, ensuring help arrives fast. Unlike apps tied to one device, Beacon Boxx is wearable-agnostic and built for everyone, including solo dwellers, single parents, and those with chronic conditions, offering a complete safety ecosystem in one solution.

What wearable device would you recommend that I buy?

We highly recommend the Apple Watch 7 or 8 SE and the Apple Watch Ultra 1 or 2.

Can Beacon Boxx send messages even if my phone is not near me?

Great question! The short answer is, it depends.

While Bluetooth technology is very mature, there are still many limitations with this technology in relation to its ability to pass through solid structures.

We highly recommend purchasing a smartwatch 4G/5G LTE plan from your mobile provider to ensure you are always able to send messages and data during emergencies. We recommend this even if you do not choose to use Beacon Boxx as you never know when you will need to alert help from your smartwatch device directly.

Doesn’t Apple do this already? Why would I need this app?

The short answer is “no”, neither Apple nor Android enabled devices provide this level of detection and prediction for emergency health events in real-time. There are no other platforms in existence today that combine detection, prediction, alerting, and home access all into a single homogenous platform.

Will Beacon Boxx “accidentally” alert my emergency contacts and EMS?

No, it would be very difficult for the Beacon Boxx system to accidentally alert my emergency contacts and EMS as there are multiple fail-safes built into the algorithm as well as manual notifications to you, the user, in the event of an emergency. At many points along the process there are opportunities to circumvent and altogether prevent any accidental notifications.

Is the Beacon Boxx hardware secure?

Yes, Beacon Boxx hardware is tested to UL 1037 standards.

How is Beacon Boxx hardware powered?

Beacon Boxx hardware uses custom, rechargeable battery packs capable of maintaining charge for up to 1,000 uses.  In order to recharge the Beacon Boxx, you remove the battery pack from the device and recharge using a USB-C.

Are there human beings monitoring emergency alerts?

Yes, our highly competent, US-based engineering team is always monitoring the servers to ensure ALL messages are sent and received by your emergency contacts.
